What We Do: Member Wage Increases

WAGE INCREASES FOR UNION MEMBERS

Our union negotiates our contract, including our wage increases, through the bargaining power of our collective union membership.

Since 2008, over several contract cycles, we have achieved the following wage increases for union members:

  • Federation, Foundation, JBBBS and BJE –union members received wage increases totaling 39.75%-42.75%

  • Jewish Family Service – union members received wage increases totaling 39%-40%

  • Jewish Vocational Service –union members received wage increases totaling 28.5%-29.5% (contract currently in negotiations)

  • Westside JCCunion members received wage increases totaling 45.5%

  • Silverlake Independent JCC -- union members received wage increases totaling 50%

For agencies newer to Local 800:

  • In the latest contract (2017) with Jewish Vocational Service GAIN unit , we won 15-17% wage increases over three years for staff with over one year of service. (The first GAIN union contract with Local 800 was in 2013.)

  • In the first contract (2018-2022) with the Museum of Tolerance, we won wages increases for all members. (The rates varied, depending on classification and years of service.)
